The 3day GHB2017 event took place at the Havilah Centre, via Sheraton Four Points, Oniru Road, Victoria Island; Lagos from April 25th – 27th 2017 had highly placed technocrats and panelists of diverse backgrounds discussing various interesting topics in relation to the theme of the event, which was ‘Creating Shared Val an Essential Tool for Enhanced Corporate Social Responsibility.
Day 1: April 25th 2017: Retail Day at GHB2017: with the sub-theme; “Retail Crash in the economic downturn. a myth or realty ‘’. This sub-theme focused on the Retail sector of the economy. All Speakers, Special Guests, VIP, Delegates were all welcomed by CEO/1st Vice Chairman LiveWell Initiative, Pharm Bisi Bright. The CEO LWI gave the welcome remarks where she stated the achievements of LWI over the last 12months which included the Exchange Project on Hepatitis in collaboration with Harvard University Boston and the successful WHO No Hepatitis (NoHep) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health.
The CEO of the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria(PSHAN) Dr Muntaqa Sadiq ably represented by Mckinsey Nigeria Consultant Mr Babatunde Johnson gave the first keynote speech of the day in his opening speech he stated what we need to do as a country to attain the Sustainable Development Goals SDG’s by by 2030. He also spoke about the vision and mission of PSHAN which mobilize the private sector to assist the government in achieve the health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by 2030.
After the keynote address of the day, the CEO of UAC Foods Limited ably represented by the CEO of Retail Expert Edge Limited Mr Emeka Uchenna, gave a presentation titled “Retail Crash in the economic downturn. a myth or realty”.
The plenary session of the day was moderated by News Editor Guardian Newspapers Mr Marcel Mbamalu and the plenary panelists included; Commercial Director Konga Mr Jide Adamolekan, Managing Director FCMB Microfinance Bank Limited Mr Adetunji Lamidi and Mr Emeka Uchenna. Each panelist gave their views on how the recent economic recession us affecting consumption patterns of Nigerians. Delegates were also awarded certificates off attendance for attending this session.
After the plenary the delegates had a tour of the exhibition stands and also a visit to the LWI stands for free health screenings which included; Stress Test, Blood Pressure, Random Blood Glucose, Hepatitis B and C Virus, HIV/AIDS Virus, Malaria Screening and Oral Hygiene. Participants also had access to Personalized Health counseling and non-prescription medicines.
During the afternoon session, CELLGEVITY a Gluothaione network marketing company made a presentation on the health benefits of Gluthaione.
