Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) is commemorated annually during the month of October. The goal of the BCAM is to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer
LWI recently collaborated with GTBank to carry out this year’s BCAM at its retail branch on Town Planning Way Ilupeju (Lagos) and its contact center at Ikate Elegushi (Lagos) for its staffers on the 19th and 20th of October 20616.
The GTBank staffers (female) who turned out from its retail outlets in Ilupeju, Mushin, Ojuelegba, Apapa, Ikeja, Victoria Island, Lekki etc were screened for Breast tumors and lumps which are indicators of Breast Cancer and were also taught how to carry out Self Breast Examination (SBE) by the LWI Nurses.
Goodie bags containing were distributed to the participants and also got health counselling from the CEO LWI Pharm Bisi Bright.
The participants were very delighted abut the outcome of the programme and they looked forward to next years’ edition.
