With the theme “Health First”, Stanbic IBTC Holdings in collaboration with LiveWell Initiative LWI recently organised a health week for its staffers from the 27th of July -August 1st of 2015 for the members of its staff.The key objective of the health week programme was to improve overall employee morale and productivity within the Stanbic IBTC Holdings Group through a motivational programme which will positively influence the health-seeking behaviour of the Staffers through lifestyle and behaviour modification.
The programme which commenced on Monday July 27th 2014 with thematic campaigns where the LWI Team served fruits and water at the Stanbic IBTC Corporate Head Office at Walter Carrignton Crescent Victoria Island, its branches at Idejo Street Victoria Island, Olawale Bakare Street Victoria Island and Industrial Avenue Ilupeju.
The Grand Finale was a health fair which took place simultaneously at Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan and Port Hacourt on the 1st of August started with a health awareness walk. The CEO, Stanbic IBTC Holdings Mrs Sola David-Borha and CEO, Stanbic IBTC Bank Mr Yinka Sanni addressed the participants at the Ibadan and Lagos centres respectively. Thereafter the participants had a session for aerobic exercise and Zoomba dance routines.
After the aerobic sessions the participants were ushered by the LWI Team to the health check up stand which consisted of Stress Test, Body Mass Index (BMI), Blood Pressure, Random Blood Glucose, Hepatitis B and C Screening, HIV Screening, Prostate Cancer Screening for the men and Cevix/Breast Examination for the women. In all, nearly up to 5,000 cumulative screenings were carried out on a cumulative number of almost 800 staffers nationwide, with a few attendances by family members. On the average, each attendee underwent 6 -8 screening tests.
Corporate entities who came to exhibit their goods and services included GlaxoSmithKline GSK Nigeria (energy drinks),Reel Fruits (dried fruits); New Heights Pharmaceuticals (Omron cardiovascular screening kits), Honeypot Nigeria(organic bath oils); Forever Living Products FLP (nutritional supplements), Tara Makeovers (beauty/natural cosmetics); SMILE Communications (free WiFi); Ageda Ltd (healthy meal options); Purple Stripes (beadmaking/handicraft); SaladMaster (healthy salads); Bellafricana (African textile);AccuCheck/Roche; Vitabiotics (potent multi-vitamins); and Bolar Pharmaceuticals .
There was a lot of positive feedback from the participants and it is very obvious that they are looking forward to next years edition.
