Health literacy is very low in Nigerian Society. The problem is more compelling when visualized from the fact that health-illiteracy in this society has no direct relationship to educational attainment or socio-demographic status. The painful consequences of the low health-literacy include, diminished life expectancy, avoidable deaths, and increased morbidity and mortality.
